Detroit’s bankruptcy filling won’t affect the 2014 edition of the North American International Auto Show, scheduled to take place at Cobo Center in January, event organizers announced last week.
According to Automotive News, the Cobo Center will get to host the next edition of the Detroit Auto Show as planned, as the convention center operates independently of Detroit since 2009 and won’t be affected by the city’s huge debt, which is estimated at more than $18 billion.
Opened back in 1960 as Cobo Hall, the Cobo Center has hosted Detroit’s annual auto show since 1965.
The 2014 North American International Auto Show will commence on January 13, with press, industry and charity preview days. Cobo Center will open its door to the general public on January 18, with the event to last until January 26.
