2014 Detroit Auto Show Raises $4.8 million for Charity

The 2014 Detroit Auto Show raised $4.8 million for nine children’s charities during the 2014 Charity Preview, NAIAS organizers revealed earlier this week, reporting a 30 percent increase compared to last year’s event.

Attended by more than 13,000 people, the 2014 Charity Preview and the nearly $5 million that were raised will benefit Boys and Girls Clubs of Southeastern Michigan, Boys and Girls Hope Detroit, The Children's Center, The Children's Hospital of Michigan Foundation, The Detroit Auto Dealers Association Charitable Foundation Fund, the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan, Detroit Institute of Children, Judson Center, March of Dimes Metro Detroit, and Detroit PAL.

"The evening was absolutely electric," said Bob Shuman, Detroit Auto Show chairman. "It was a sea of sequence and black, and the accessories were the smiles of 13,000 plus people celebrating our industry by giving back to the kids in our community."

Since 1976, the Detroit Auto Show Charity Preview has raised over $95 million for Southeast Michigan Children's Charities.
