The stages and route for the 2014 Dakar have been announced. We're looking at a competition which brings riders and drivers back to the merciless South American trails, with the route passing through Argentina, Bolivia, and Chile.
The upcoming Dakar rally will have 13 stages, and a total distance of 8,734 km, or 5.428 miles, for quads and motorcycles and a bit linger for trucks and cars.
Riders will see the distance grouped in 3,506 km (2,179 mi) of road sections or liaison and 5,228 km (3.249 mi) of special stages.
As key points, we've got the town of Rosario in Argentina, a rest day in Salta, Argentina, too and the podium in Val Paraiso, Chile.
