KTM announces that the rider who will replace the late Kurt Caselli in the Red Bull KTM team at the 2014 Dakar is Jordi Viladoms.
The 2014 Dakar will be the Viladoms' 8th Dakar since 2006, with 2008 marking his only miss. Jordi Viladoms is no stranger to the front pack of the Dakar riders, as he finished just outside the podium in 2012, in the 4th position.
2013 was not very lucky for Viladoms as he was forced to withdraw during stage 9. He also rode for the KTM factory team between 2006 and 2010,a nd this year he will become team mate with Marc Coma, Ruben Faria and Chaleco Lopez.
“It’s obviously a shame to be inheriting the ride under such sad circumstances, but I’ll be doing my best to put on a good show in Kurt’s memory,” Viladoms adds, according to CMG.
