Spanish manufacturer gas Gas announces the factory team for the 2014 Dakar. An all-Spanish affair, bikes and riders, the team comprises no less than 4 pilots: Gerard Farres, Marc Guasch, Dani Oliveras and Miguel Puertas.
The 2014 Dakar will be the 4th year for Gas Gas, and together with some additional 5 factory supported privateer teams, the Spanish maker hopes for slowly getting to fully deserve the "factory" badge.

This means that (hopefully) all the 9 machines make it past the finish line, thus proving they are up to the grueling condition of this rally-ride race. Ramon Puente, Managing Director for Gas Gas also says that the next year could see a team twice as big.

Despite receiving many requests for the EC450 machine, the factory had to turn them all down because they did not comply with the goals Gas Gas established for 2014.

Gerard Farres is the team leader and he say that finishing in top 10 would be a fantastic achievement for both him and Gas Gas. Farres become the main rider in the Gas Gas team after Jordi Villadoms went to KTM, replacing the late Kurt Caselli.
