2014 Corvette Stingray UK Pricing Announced

The brand new Corvette, a seventh generation model now bearing the Stingray name, made its debut on January 13th this year, a day we won't forget in a hurry. For British customers, however, June 18th will be the day to remember because today the bowtie brand announced UK pricing and availability for the sportscar.

The 2014 Corvette Stingray will arrive in dealerships across Europe starting this fall and UK customers can look forward to paying just £61,495 for this muscular sportscar with more power than a BMW M3.

That's because the car will arrive to the tune of a new 6.2-liter V8 engine called the LT1. The engine provides 460 hp (343 kW) at 6,000 rpm and 630 NM (465 lb-ft) of torque at 4,600 rpm with the performance exhaust system.

Because Chevrolet wants to thoroughly impress its new-found British customers, the Corvette will be sold with the Z51 performance pack as standard, which in America is an optional extra. This includes the following features:

• enhanced aero package for optimised high-speed stability
• electronic limited-slip differential
• specific shocks, springs and stabiliser bars
• specific performance gear ratio
• dry-sump oiling system, differential and transmission cooling
• larger front (19x8.5 inch) and rear (20x10 inch) wheels and tyres
• larger front (345 mm) and rear (338 mm) brakes

“Corvette has inspired millions across generations, and the new Stingray is no exception. The advancements in design, technology and engineering have given us a car that will define the decade and far exceed consumers' expectations,” said Susan Docherty, President and Managing Director, Chevrolet and Cadillac Europe. "While the Corvette Stingray can compete with its rivals in terms of performance, it remains affordable. The Stingray is more than a car, it’s a statement of intent by drivers who want the pure exhilaration that’s tantamount with the name Corvette.”
