In fact, the appeal of the new Corvette is much wider because of the higher levels of quality, both inside and out, and the improved usability.

The styling is very Ferrari-like, like a combination of 599 and the 458. In fact, GM have even created a Ferrari-like system called Drive Mode Selector with five settings that GM says "tailors 12 vehicle attributes".

The power for this all-new, lighter, stiffer Corvette comes from its new generation small-block V8 with 450HP and peak torque of 450 lb-ft. GM’s engineers say it will go from 0 to 60 in less than four seconds. There’s a couple of transmission choices: a standard six-speed manual or the optional seven-speed Tremec manual which comes standard with Active Rev Matching. This blips the throttle every time you go grab a gear so that the revs match.

The new Corvette will make its motor show debut on Monday, January 14, in Detroit. This is where we’ll get our first taste of the car, so stay tuned.
