The GM marketing machine was only supposed to swing into action once the C7 ‘Vette is unveiled at the 2013 NAIAS in Detroit, but Sony's Gran Turismo 5 has jumped the gun and is already promoting the fact that this game will allow you to get behind the wheel of the 450 hp sportscar.
Three video of the C7 have been taken from the GT5 demo game and posted on GT Planet forums. Given the popularity of the Corvette in the racing world, it’s not surprising that Sony want to capitalize with its own digital version.
The new Corvette will be revealed in January 2013. It is powered by a completely new family of V8, the LT1, which displaces 6.2 liters and will be rated at 450 hp and 450 lb-ft (610 Nm). It will help the C7 Corvette sprint from 0 to 60 (96 km/h) in less than four seconds. Exciting stuff, even if you convert that into pixels!
