2014 Chevrolet Silverado Looks Better with a Heavy Duty Face

As a Ford guy about the styling put into the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and he’ll tell you the same old thing. It’s outdated, it’s the same thing it’s been the past 20 years, and so on and so forth.

We’re not here to host a pickup truck beauty contest, but we know more than just a few people that are criticizing the new Silverado for its looks. Let’s say the F-150 guys can be accused of partisanship, but what about the others? Like people who are driving a 2010 Dodge Ram and are actually looking to replace it with a new truck.

Well, we guess they could have a look at what Consumer Reports had to say about the 2014 model year trucks and make a choice, but there’s one model they won’t be able to purchase - the 2014 Silverado 1500 with a 2015 Silverado HD front end.

And that’s because the image posted above is only a rendering made by our friends over at GM Authority, who are asking whether Chevrolet should unify a solid look across the Silverado truck line or not.

The 1500 would definitely look bolder with the solid piece trim that runs from one side of the grille through the other, between the top and lower-level light clusters, but we won’t see a face transplant like this happen over the next couple of years, until Chevy updates the truck.

How about you? Would you opt for the Silverado 1500 if it had a Heavy Duty face? Or maybe you’re saving for the brand new, aluminum-bodied 2015 Ford F-150 that’s about to hit the market by the end of the year?
