General Motors is recalling nearly 22,000 units of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra full-size pickup trucks over manual front reclining seatbacks that may move is the vehicle is hit from behind.
According to the Detroit-based company, the seats may fail to meet certain federal safety requirements in a rear-end crash and need to be checked, adjusted and even replaced if necessary. GM said the fix will be covered by the vehicle’s warranty, but did there’s no info whether there will be owner notification or a first service inspection.

The recall affects 21,721 Silverado and Sierra pickup trucks, of which 18,972 are located in the United States, 2,575 are in Canada, 103 have been shipped to Mexico and 71 were exported to other regions.

This is the second recall issued for the all-new 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, after the airbag notification that affected 919 examples, most of them still with dealers at the time, earlier this year.
