GM’s brand new 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 has been named the 2013 Fleet Truck of the Year by Automotive and Business Fleet magazines, after receiving the most votes among 36 pickup trucks evaluated in this year’s competition.
“We are proud to recognize the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 with the 2013 Fleet Truck of the Year award,” said Sherb Brown, vice president and group publisher for Bobit Business Media’s FleetGroup. “The Truck of the Year award is voted on every year by fleet managers, making this a real honor for vehicle manufacturers that serve this professional segment.”
Already available in GM dealerships across the United States, the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado can be had with either a 4.3-liter EcoTec3 V6 engine or a 5.3-liter EcoTec3 V8 mill. The redesigned pickup truck is priced from $25,575, but Chevy offers a $1,000 discount in cash-back incentive and a $500 discount on some packages.
The 2014 Chevrolet Silverado is also one of the finalists for 2014 North American Truck/Utility of the Year, fighting for the coveted award with the Acura MDX and the Jeep Cherokee. The winner will be announced at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show next month.
