2014 Chevrolet Impala Will Be Based on Cadillac XTS

Will be much better looking, but what about the weight? 1 photo

As we’ve already said, it looks like GM is making too many cars again, and now there’s a new one coming, the Chevrolet Impala replacement. We were quite taken with the shape of the new Malibu midsize until we realized that it’s kind of heavy compared to its European rivals and so not really marketable everywhere.
It might be the same story with the Impala replacement, since according to Automotive News, the platform will be borrowed from the upcoming Cadillac XTS, their flagship model. It really does seem that all that matters right now is having a big car with large amounts of content.

The new Impala will be heavy on style and will even offer all-wheel drive, but is that all that’s needed to clean a tarnished image of a car that’s popular with fleet customers.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
