The Chevrolet Impala used to be synonymous with three-across front bench seats, but the 2014 model is as modern as the iPhone. Still, classic is always cool, which is why the ad men rummaged through the 60s for some relevant memorabilia they can use in their latest TV spot.
The commercial takes us back to the day when men were men and women still liked that, when men did the driving and women the cooking… We kind of see right activists not liking that one.
For $27,500, the Impala is a lovely automobile to look at. It comes standard with a 2.5-liter four-banger delivering 195 hp and 187 lb-ft (253 Nm) of torque. YOu can also have the 182hp 2.4-liter with eAssist from Buick or the big 3.6-liter V6 engine with 305 hp.
There's one point we'd like to make about the Impala ad. The guy who stars in it wears a suit, plays golf during the day, listens to Sinatra and flirts with a woman walking a dog. Sounds like somebody who works for the mafia, doesn't it!
