General Motors has announced a recall for about 1,600 of its 2014 Chevrolet and 2013 Cadillac vehicles over a brake light issue. According to the company, the brake lights might flash on their own and could cause the cruise control to disengage as a result.
The recall affects about 800 Chevrolet Impalas build for the 2014 model year and over 800 Cadillac XTS and ATS models, both form 2013. The problem was discovered at GM’s Lansing Grand River plant and the automaker believes that only about 80 vehicles made it to its customers with this issue.
Those concerned by the recall will be contacted by General Motors and the flaw will be fixed at local dealerships free of charge. No injuries or customer complaints related to the issue have been reported so far.
