Car of the Year has announced the provisional list of candidates for the Car of the Year 2014 award. A number of 30 vehicles have been selected for 2014, with the final list to be released in November.
The seven finalists will be announced by mid December 2013, while the big winner will be unveiled on the eve of the Geneva Motor Show, which is scheduled to start on March 3, 2014.
According to caroftheyear.org, all candidates must be new vehicles on sale now or before year’s end in five or more European markets, and each should have the prospect of at least 5,000 foreseeable annual sales.
Probably the most interesting appearance on this year's list is the Tesla Model S. The US-developed all-electric sedan was delivered for the very first time in Europe in early August.
