The 2014 Cadillac CTS-V may be powered by force-induction V8 engine based on the new Corvette Stingray LT1 powerplant.
According to Motor Trend, Cadillac is currently testing a twin-turbo and a supercharged engine, and while no final decision has been made yet, the high-performance sedan is likely to come with the latter LT1 Corvette-based V8.

That's great new for CTS fans, but ATS-V enthusiast won't so happy to hear that the new car will only get a twin-turbo V6 engine. There is a V8 unit in plan, but only at the end of the first-generation ATS' lifecycle as a special edition.

Since we're in the rumor mill, word has it that Cadillac is planning on bringing back the classic Eldorado name.

In other news, the American automaker announced two Special Edition CTS models just a few days after accidentally revealing the new generation car in winter testing photos.
