Revealed at the New York Auto Show last year, the 2014 CTS was redesigned on a lighter platform and gain a brand new, commanding exterior featuring a large shield-like front grille and vertical LED lights.

The sedan’s interior is packed GM’s latest in terms of luxury and technology, including a CUE infotainment system with a standard 8-inch color touch screen, 20-way adjustable front seats, an electronically locking glove box with LED lighting, electronic park brake and a Bose eleven-speaker sound system.

Engine-wise, the company is offering three choices in the United States. There’s a 2.0-liter turbo with 272 hp, a 3.6-liter V6 rated at 321 hp and the all-new twin-turbo V6 that packs 420 hp. Shanghai GM has yet to announce which mills will become available in China, but customers will probably get the 2.0 and the twin-turbo V6.

There’s no word on pricing either, but considering the 2014 ATS costs from RMB 308,000 (about $50,000), the 2014 CTS should fetch more than RMB 424,000 ($68,100).

The 2014 CTS will join the ATS, XTS, SRX and the Escalade on the Chinese market. According to a statement released in January, GM’s joint venture partners will launch 17 new models in China this year, while four new plants will be opened in the country through 2015.
