Chevrolet tells us to “Forget everything you know about driving” in their second teaser for the C7, but what they should have said is to forget everything we know about the Corvette.
The car that Europeans don’t take very seriously has just become a true contender. Corvette engineers always liked using new technology and materials to make the cars lighter faster and more advanced. The C7 is no exception, and it seems they’ve added a digital display instead of an analog system of rev and speed clocks.
It looks like between the revs and the speed, the car will show different parameters, namely the engine temperature, oil temperature, oil pressure, battery status, tire pressure and how long till you have to service the car.
The C7 reminds us of the 84 Corvette C4, which was the first with ABS and electronic instrumentation. Just like the new Vette which will be revealed in Detroit in January, the C4 emphasized low drag resistance.
