When Cadillac started teasing the ATS, it all started with the rumors, that the car existed, that it was built around a whole new platform to rival the BMW 3-Series. Then, as the reveal date got closer, the ATS started making video appearances, showing little by little what it was made of.
Now, the lessons leaned are being put to good us, as GM’s marketing teams are stirring us up with the seventh-generation Chevy Corvette. The 2014 model year will make its official debut on January 13th, 2013, most likely on the floor of the Detroit Motor Show.
This very first video teaser for the C7 starts by showing the skillful hand of a clay sculptor creating what will no doubt be a futuristic new machine. The video than takes us to the track, where test drivers are shown strapping themselves into the seats. After a quick sequence of driving action, we’ve shown blurry elements of the new Corvette, stuff like the grille, wheels, slotted brake disks and the four exhaust tips.
We’ve heard rumors that the C7 will use a twin-turbo V8, but that doesn’t sound like the American way. Instead, this new LS engine will likely push the small-block family into the future with new technologies.
