Brammo has just released the first official photos of their 2014 Empulse and Empulse R electric bikes, sworn to to carry on the honorable heritage the 2013 bikes helped building. That is, the world's fastest electric production motorcycle.
The Empulse machines now come with the proven liquid-cooled engine, the marvelous "just like the real thing" 6-speed gearbox and fast charging. The integrated J1772-spec charging system can do 3kWh, meaning shorter recharging times and excelent compliance with existing stations and garage wall outlets.

Charging from 20% to 80% takes 2 hours, and more than 7000 Level 2 public charging stations are compliant with the 2014 Empulse.

Thanks to the nifty transmission, the 90Nm (66 lb-ft) of motor torque can be transformed in over 880Nm (650 lb-ft) at the wheel, and becoming a match for the nerve of 650cc twins.

On the running costs side, the new Empulse brings about 438 MPGe (MPG electric equivalency) or a mind-boggling 0.54 l/100km-e fuel economy.

Brammo's 2014 Empulse brings nickel-plated battery brackets for cooler looks, a redesigned dash with battery SOC (State-of-Charge), road speed, motor speed, odometer, energy use, gear position, battery status, estimated range, and system status. The tapered aluminium bars come from Italy's Accossato and are specifically made for Brammo.

The tires are Continental SportAttack 2,120-70 ZR17, 58W for the front and 180-55 ZR17, 73W in the rear. Liveries can be True Blood Red and Eclipsed Black, or the new Maillot Jaune Yellow and Neodymium Silver Metallic.

Brammo sells the Empulse for $16,999 in the US and €15,240 in Europe, while the Empulse R is $18,995 and €17,640, respectively.
