The current BMW X5 model is now more diverse than ever. Furthermore, the line-up is more differentiated between the US and Europe than ever.
Following the public’s request, the X5 is now offered with both AWD and RWD, depending on where you live. In the US, the only model you can get, that sends all the power to the rear axle is the sDrive35i one, whilst in Europe, you can only go for a diesel sDrive25d.

That’s not all though. The Europeans have more diesel variants too, the most interesting one of them all being the M50d version, that we also had for a full test drive. For now, this M Performance model is not available in the US.

The guys from Autoguide took a regular xDrive35i out for a quick test drive and noticed almost the same things we did. The interior space could’ve been a bit bigger for a full-size SUV and the ride could’ve been more comfortable but if you want the best engines, drivetrains and driving experience in this segment, this is the way to go.
