2014 BMW X5 Uses Panoramic Cameras for More Traffic Safety

How many times did you drive out of a parking lot fearing that there might be a car coming from either side because you simply didn't have enough visibility? How many times did you curse at those that parked right on the curve?

Those are the kind of problems every driver has and that really should be solved by car manufacturers. The F15 X5 is by no means a small car. The E70 model was big and the new one is even bigger.

That brings about the problems we told you about in the first paragraph. Lately, most manufacturers included rear-view cameras that are most useful when parking, but what about when driving forward with minimal visibility.

BMW introduced panoramic cameras on its new Sports Activity Vehicle. Now, at the press of one button located next to the gearshift lever, you can activate them and check out the surroundings before moving your car.

Furthermore, the system also uses both acoustical and visual warnings to let you know that something or someone is approaching you, from either side, so that you aren't taken by surprise. For more info, check the video below.
