2014 BMW X5 Panoramic Moonroof Controls Guide

For the 2014 X5 model, BMW decided to go with a full panoramic moonroof, allowing its customers to fully enjoy the beauty of a sunny day or a clear night sky. Using the panoramic moonroof might pose some issues though.

So, to help you guys out, here's how to use the functions of the panoramic moonroof on a BMW F15 X5. First of all, you should know that the controls are located above the rearview mirror.

The glass panoramic moonroof and the panoramic visor can both be controlled using the same switch. To operate the visor only, press and hold the switch in the desired direction (it works both backwards and forwards) to the resistance point.

You can also push the switch past the resistance point to automatically open the visor. After the visor was opened, in order to open the moonroof you simply have to press the same switch backwards past the resistance point.

The first time you press the button past the resistance point, the moonroof will open  approximately halfway through. Pressing it again will take the retracting glass even further backwards.

To use both the visor and the moonroof at the same time, press the switch past the resistance point twice in the desired direction. To simply tilt the moonroof just press the switch upwards briefly.

The roof can also be opened using the key fob. When unlocking your car, if you keep the unlock button pressed, the windows and the moonroof will be opened at the same time. For more info check the video below.
