HVAC stands for heating, ventilation and air conditioning and is usually used in reference to a building or office. However, since the new X5 is so big, we thought we could use it to describe its interior climate control.

With the 3rd generation model, BMW redesigned the climate control panel adding revised settings and functions to the mix. The air distribution is controlled using a single button, located at the top left corner of the panel. Underneath it, you’ll find the seat warmers button and to the right of that button, the one for ventilated seats.

Going further to the right, you’ll notice a new button called ‘SYNC’. This one will allow you to control the ambient temperature for both of the climate control’s zones at the same time. Of course, the most comfortable setting is still the Automatic one, enabled or disabled by the ‘AUTO’ button located on the temperature adjustment wheel.

Moving more to the left, you’ll find the window defrost button for the windshield and the MAX A/C button that will set the system to the lowest temperature, maximum airflow and air circulation mode, for those extremely hot days. For more info, check the videos below.
