German automaker BMW has launched the 2014 BMW X5 configurator for the United States, where the new SAV (Sports Activity Vehicle) will arrive in dealerships later this year.
So if you’re looking to buy one or you’re just anxious to have some virtual fun with the new X5, you can head over to BMW USA and choose from the four versions offered by the Munich-based company - sDrive35i, xDrive35i, xDrive35d, and xDrive50i.
Every version comes with three lines (trims) - Luxury, M Sport and xLine - that add several extras, but you can also opt to customize your own X5 without having to select a line. As usual, BMW offers a wide range of options that can add at least $20,000 to the vehicle’s starting price. For instance, our xDrive50i went from $68,200 to about $90,000 in just a couple of minutes.
As a reminder, the 2014 BMW X5 will become available in the US with the turbo 3.0-liter inline six and the twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 engines. The Germans will also add a 3.0-liter turbodiesel but you’ll have to wait for that one until early 2014.
