2014 BMW S1000R, Even More Evil than the RR

It's a glorious day for the roadster fans, as BMW Motorrad unveils their latest mean machine, the 2014 S1000R, the naked brother of the acclaimed S1000RR. Naked usually means far more aggressive, and the S1000R is no exception: this beast blows the superbike out of the water from a styling point of view.

The max power is 118 kW (160 hp) and is reached @11,000 rpm, while the peak torque is 112 Nm (82.5 ft-lbs) is delivered @ 9,250 rpm. The engine has been tuned to deliver more torque in the lower range and it surpasses the S1000RR under 7,500 rpm, with an obvious street-minded engineering.

ASC (Automatic Stability Control), Race ABS and dual riding modes are standard, with the Dynamic suspensions being optional. The 2014 BMW S1000R offer Rain and Road modes, with the Pro mode and its Dynamic and Dynamic Pro mappings available optionally.

The bike weighs in at 207 kg (457 lbs) with a full (aluminium) tank and this hints us on exceptional handling, enhanced by the roadster-specific frame geometry.

As for the styling, we're already sold, even without the plethora of optional accessories available, Akrapovic exhaust and carbon parts included. Now we're waiting for the price tag...

Enjoy the (almost) 100 pictures after the jump.
