BMW prepares a neg generation of their R1200RT touring bike, and some guys were on the watch: hence here are the first spy photos of the 2014 bikes, seen on oprn road testing in southern France.
For now, it looks like the 2013 R1200RT will be powered with the engine present in the new R1200GS, BMW's new liquid-cooled unit. We might also expect that the next generation of R1200RT bikes uses the same single-sided swingarm and maybe the exhaust system, too.

Motorcyclenews says the exhaust seen on the spied machines is different from the one on the new R1200GS, but there is still plenty of time for changes. The plastic bodywork has also received some changes, and it looks like the 2014 R1200RT will sport the adaptative headlights of its bigger K1600GT sibling.

We're looking forward to see the new boxer tourer and we're ever so glad to see BMW extending the use of their new 1170cc, 125 hp power unit to other models.
