2014 BMW R1200GS Adventure Promo Is Sickeningly Cheesy

Some Beemer fans will definitely be mad at me for this piece, but that's life: no matter how much you love your R1200GS Adventure, you must admit that this promo is as cheesy as an ad for small bikes for retired seniors needs to be.
Sorry to say this, but this promo has exactly ZERO adventure in it, and it has absolutely nothing to do with what true adventure is.

Just when did riding through 7 inches of water become adventure? Or is riding on less-than-perfect asphalt some sort of new enduro? Venturing on dry backroads covered in some dust and rubble counts as off-road?

Seriously, pretty much any allrounder bike (sportsbikes and choppers obviously excluded) can do this, and many of them will be even better as they're lighter, more maneuverable on rough ground and less expensive.

Guys caressing their bikes, when they should be wiping mud off them, come on, BMW! If this is a promo made by amateurs, maybe it's worth appreciating the efforts, but in case this is a corporate emanation... lol.

This looks silly and childish through the eyes of real off-roaders, but it's just an expression of what marketing does. That is, only a few percents of the big-bore GS customers are really riding them as hard as they're meant to. For the rest, it's more about social status. Sorry, but that's the truth.

As for the few who are not afraid to get dirty, wholehearted salutations!
