Folks, it seems like the engineers from Munich really worked hard to make the new M3 (and M4) as fun as possible. My guess is that they sat down with a couple of enthusiasts and asked them what is most fun to do in an M3. The answers helped them develop new functions for the new cars, to make them even better.
One such function is called ‘Smokey Burnout’. No joke! According to the official press release from BMW: “the Smokey Burnout function allows the driver to indulge in a degree of rear wheel spin while the car is moving at low speeds.” What exactly that means, I don’t know right now, but inquiries will be made to find out more.

My best guess is that it will help you out when trying to do a burnout so that you don’t destroy your car’s clutch, brakes or anything else whilst burning rubber, to avoid situations such as this. Until we get to drive, we can’t really be sure though.
