It’s a real treat to be invited by BMW to test drive their latest cars at a press event. The company will cover your plane ticket, hotel and other expenses just so that you can tell them what you think about their latest creation, even if you’ll end up criticizing it.
Amongst the people that were flown in to Las Vegas for the M235i launch was Jason Torchinsky from Jalopnik, the man responsible with introducing the new coupe to the Jalopnik crowd. A really big deal.
If you go on Jalopnik on any given day, you’ll notice that people usually criticize BMWs because they are heavy and lost contact with what used to make them great to drive. Therefore, it was a bold move for the German company to call one of them to see the new 2 Series.
In the end, the car proved to be so good that even Jalopnik had to say it’s worth your attention. Sure, there are some downsides that are mostly subjective but overall, the driving feel and the chassis make you want one of these cars more than any other BMW of this day and age.
