The newest coupe from BMW is the 2 Series but that’s only half of the story we’re interested in here. The car we’re extremely curious to see how it drives is the M235i, the first M Performance car to hit the US.
The guys from Car Advice were flown in to Las Vegas to test the new car at an event hosted by BMW, destined exclusively for press members. Unlike previous reviews that we found kind-of bias, this one is actually spot on.

The M235i is a fast, agile car that holds its own in corners, making spirited driving a truly rewarding experience. The steering was seriously revised so that it would offer the best possible feedback for an electric system, whilst the build quality keeps you safe and comfortable, depending on what you prefer.

This new model also comes, as standard, with 4 different driving modes and a manual 6-speed gearbox that will probably be outshone by the brilliant automatic 8-speed gearbox that also comes with a launch control function.

Compared to the car it replaces, the E82 135is, the 2er is bigger both on the outside and on the inside. It’s also more planted and grippy, making life on track more enjoyable.

Bottom line, the only downsides they found were the lack of the horsepower compared to the full-on 1M Coupe model, giving the M235i a respectable 9/10.
