It seems like some people just like to ruin a party. BMW had big plans for the unveiling of the new 2 Series Coupe and a couple of guys and websites decided to take matters into their own hands.
Earlier today, way before the official shots were supposed to go online, one dude that likes to call himself 'eightythird' shared some secret official shots of the M235i model with sites like World Car Fans and Jalopnik, only to be later picked up by other mainstream publications.
So, BMW, we feel sorry for you. Now that the cat's out of the bag, we had to bring you the photos too, to allow you to drool over the new sports coupe from Bavaria.
The M235i, as you can see, looks a lot better than its hatch brother, the M135i, dropping those awful headlights and ghastly rear end. Furthermore, according to the leaked stats we already found, it will also be more powerful and lighter.
The new car will be using the same 3-liter turbocharged engine but this time it will be boasting more power reaching the 326 HP mark and similar torque figures around 450 Nm (332 lb-ft). The 0-100 km/h (62 mph) sprint will be done with in 4.8 seconds for the automatic gearbox and 0.2 seconds slower for the manual. Expect the M235i to be delivered first around second quarter of 2014.
