Usually, the guys from Car Buyer get their info pretty much spot on, however, as all of us are, they are also prone to mistakes. They are only humans, after all, and went all out on the new BMW X5.
The car they had was the only M Performance vehicles in the new line-up, the M50d model, fitted with a tri-turbo 3-liter diesel engine that develops 381 HP and 740 Nm (546 lb-ft) of torque.

Even though the car weights around 2 tones, it still reaches 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 5.3 seconds and returns an average fuel consumption of 35.1 mpg (6.7 l/100 km), making this quite a potent SUV, even when compared to the top of the range model, the xDrive50i version fitted with a turbo 4.4-liter V8 that does the same sprint in 5 seconds.

Inside the cabin, you'll find plenty of storage spaces for all your needs whilst in the back, the boot has a few liters less than its main rivals but more with the seats down. You can also get 2 extra seats in the back, for those larger families, the X5 being capable of carrying around 7 people at once.

The new model is based on a new platform and chassis and that's where the Car Buyer guys went wrong. Sure, the engines are mostly the same as on the previous versions but the chassis is completely new and will also serve as a starting ground for the new X6, the F16 model.

Other than that, the review is pretty dead on but we're quite disappointed they didn't take the car off-road, to prove the xDrive's capabilities outside the usual urban jungle.
