July is just around the corner and everyone is looking towards BMW and its facelifted cars that will be roaming the streets in no time. The LCI 5 Series came not only with a refreshed look but with a couple of new optional features and engine too.
The guys from Autocar took a BMW 530d out for a try to see what's new in the LCI car and how it feels, with a diesel engine. Yes, this is an important enough matter that is has to be emphasized.
Why? Because of the progress BMW did. Some people complained that the 3-liter 6-cylinder unit was way too noisy for 2013 so the German company delivered what was expected: a quiet, impressively fast and more economical version of the 5er.
The main improvements come in the eco-friendly area though. Almost all of BMW's new engines are now Euro6 compatible, including the diesel units. The body and chassis was also retuned to a certain degree so now the car is more comfortable and has less roll.
Even though most people claimed that the LCI 5er has no clear advantages over its predecessor, it's the combination of a couple of little things that makes this car a most desirable one.
