The new hard-top convertible from BMW wears a 4 on the bonnet instead of a 3, in the same fashion as the new coupe wears the exact same number instead of the one we’ve been getting used to. I’m talking about the 4 Series and the 3 Series, of course.
According to BMW’s new naming and marketing scheme, the Coupe and now Convertible models progressed and evolved into the 4 Series, the latter being under the most scrutiny right now. Edmunds went to Las Vegas to test the 435i model and they were impressed.

The drop-top does exactly what you want it to do and the things you buy it for. The top-down experience is brilliant, smooth and warm even in cold days thanks to the new neck warmers and the heated seats. The luxury you sit in, immediately tells you you’re in a BMW. The dash has the same conservative look, carefully designed to be as ergonomic as possible with buttons for each vital function and the touch iDrive controller on the center stack. The system evolved a lot and is now widely regarded as one of the best in the field.

Overall, this car is not for track racing. It’s a car for those summer days when cruising along in a very comfortable car with your friends and the top down is all you need. That’s what it was created for and that’s what it does.
