We’ve seen it in spyshots and we were eager to get a look at it without all that pesky camouflage. We’re talking about the 4 Series Convertible, of course, a car that was finally unveiled by the officials from Munich.

After launching the Coupe version it was only a matter of time until the convertible came into light also. Therefore, we have the pleasure to introduce to you the 4 Series Convertible and say goodbye to the 3 Series Convertible.

The new car sticks close to the design cues of BMW and the 4 Series overall. Short overhangs, a long bonnet and the same kidney grille at the front will let you know immediately that this car is a BMW. The connected headlights, air breathers behind the wheels and the air curtains at the front will just as soon tell you that this is a 4 Series.

The Cabrio 4er comes with a hard-top, just as we expected that retracts in the boot, similarly to the way the E93 3 Series did before it. The main advantage of such a system is that it allows you to use this car even during those cold winter months.

Inside you’ll notice that the headliner is top notch, using the best materials to isolate the cabin from outside factors like noise and cold. It even has lamps on it so that the difference between a cabrio and coupe is as little as possible.

The interior’s design is roughly the same as in the 4 Series Coupe with only one major difference. For the first time in the 3 Series/4 Series Convertible’s history, you can get seats with neck warmers for the
driver and passenger. They are available through the optional sports seats.

Talking about optional features, the 4 Series Convertible will be available in 4 lines: Sport, Modern, Luxury and M Sport. All of them will have an impressive array of optional features available so that you can get the car that you want straight out of the assembly lines.

Driving dynamics played an important part in developing this new car and BMW didn’t disappoint. At the moment we’ll have to wait for the first test drives but they say that sophisticated chassis technology, torque-steer-free Electric Power Steering, 50:50 weight distribution, a program of fine-tuning in the wind tunnel and a lightweight construction concept allowed them to keep the car just as fun as the Coupe.

The first deliveries are expected around early next year but until then you can feast your eyes on our photo gallery!
