German manufacturer MZ has had quite a hard time during the last years, but it looks like they're just not ready to abandon all hope. After coming up with a nice new engine idea earlier this year, here's one new bike from Zschopau, now wearing theall-new ZP Moto badge, a name bringing together ex-MZ workers.
The ZPSport 449 is also the first motorcycle in more than 40 years to wear the Zschopau city coat of arms. The ZPSport 449 is a hand-crafted vintage-look motorcycle and will be manufactured in small numbers. With accessories and some materials/ finishes still customizable, the ZPSport 449 will be offered for a base price of €18,859 + VAT.
That means €22,431 or $29,335, and that seems a bit steep, but collectors will surely battle over it. The advance payment is just over € 7,400 ($9,677) and upon delivery you should also have some dimes ready for the individual delivery costs. Considering only 50 ZPSport 449 to be made annually, collectors should already be reaching for the checkbook.
The ZPSport 449 comes with an 118 kg (260 lbs) dry weight with a12 L (3.16 gal) fuel tank and a 449cc single-cylinder Gas Gas engine set up and tuned in Zschopau. The 21" and 18" wheels comes with Brembo disc brakes, a Mupo fork and Öhlins rear shock, 6-speed gearbox and Euro III fuel injection. No word on power or torque at the time of writing.
