Volkswagen of America always has these funny, witty commercials that just get you in the mood. ‘The mood for what?’ you might ask. Why, the mood for buying a brand new Passat sedan.
The ad shows the typical white collar / middle management dad trying to teach his son how to play baseball... badly!
Despite no big changes being made to the car in a while, VW has managed to keep up with stiff competition in this segment. To blame for this is the fact that of the Passat’s rivals have Japanese or American names. It’s German heritage is supposed to stand for reliability and build quality, which is exactly what they’re banking on in this commercial.

All that is great, except the Passat is actually built in Tennessee, and people across the world are complaining their DSG7s are braking down right now. Oh and in case you’re trying to figure out what the fine print says, the car in the commercial doesn’t cost $20,845, it’s actually more like $32,000.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
