The dust has not settled on the Frankfurt Auto Show yet. How can it, members of the general public are just starting to flood in. But tidbits of information regarding what’s coming to the next big shows has started to trickle down the web.
According to Car and Driver, Volkswagen has had it with everyone unveiling hybrids in the States and is bringing their own, production ready Jetta gasoline-electric to Detroit at the beginning of next year. It will come with a turbocharged 1.4-liter TSI and an electric motor.
The aforementioned source has also mentioned of a brand will debut the Beetle with no roof on a bit later in the year, at the New York International Auto Show in April 2012. In addition, it looks like there won't be a Jetta coupe coming any time soon, because VW's production capabilities are becoming limited.
