According to Car and Driver, Volkswagen has had it with everyone unveiling hybrids in the States and is bringing their own, production ready Jetta gasoline-electric to Detroit at the beginning of next year. It will come with a turbocharged 1.4-liter TSI and an electric motor.

The aforementioned source has also mentioned of a brand will debut the Beetle with no roof on a bit later in the year, at the New York International Auto Show in April 2012.
