Volkswagen has released UK pricing information for the 2013 Golf GTI. Introduced at this year's Geneva Motor Show, the GTI Mk7 is now available to order in the United Kingdom with prices starting at £25,845.
Fetching only £195 more than the previous model, the new Golf GTI is available, for the first time in its history, in two editions. While both versions are equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine, power and speed figures are slightly different, the upper Performance edition having 10 HP over the base model.
Therefore, the base GTI has 217 bhp (220 PS) under the hood, can sprint to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 6.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 152 mph (245 km/h), whereas the Performance GTI boasts 227 HP, needs 6.4 seconds to accelerate to 62 mph from a standing start and tops out at 155 mph (250 km/h). In case you want that extra 10 HP, 0.1 second and 3 mph, you'll just have to pay £980.
Both models come with 18-inch wheels, 2Zone climate control, sport seats and touchscreen infotainment as standard, while the option list features Vienna leather upholstery, High Beam/Lane/Park Assist, keyless entry and many more.
