2013 Vespa 946, a Modern Tribute to the Scooters of Yore

Vespa started manufacturing scooters back in 1946 and has managed to build and develop an iconic design for these vehicles. With the MP6 model being soon 70-years-old, here's a humble and extremely stylish tribute to the initial scooter that started it all: enter the 2013 Vespa 946.

The Vespa 946 retains the classic, characteristic lines of the old model, but the design is ever so modern and fluid. Just like the old model had a solo seat, the new Vespa 946 comes with one: an aluminium seat hinged to the bike making the scooter look like no other.

The 125cc 4-stroke engine delivers 11 bhp which seems to be enough in the busy city traffic, and 12” wheels instead of the usual 9” or 10“ with disc brakes and ABS are simply as cool as it gets. Add in the futuristic LED lights and stylish LCD screen mixed with the retro air and you get a commuter which screams style.

And just to make things even nicer, the Vespa 946 comes with single-sided suspension for both front and rear, and that's really one thing you just don' t see everyday. Still waiting for the price, but we just know it's not going to be cheap.
