The new Toyota RAV4 EV represents the collaboration between the Japanese automaker and its Silicon Valley partner Tesla. While on the outside the crossover resembles a RAV4, the technology that powers it from the inside is all Tesla’s.
Things go pretty easy with this vehicle, as it comes in one single trim only, starting at $49,800 and being powered by an AC induction motor that puts out 115 kW (154 hp) and 273 lb-ft (370 Nm) maximum torque. All the power is transmitted to the front wheels only, giving the car a top speed of 85 (137 km/h) mph in Normal mode and 100 mph (160 km/h) in Sport, while its estimated range is about 103 miles (165 km).

Standard features include a dual zone automatic climate control, Premium IntelliTouch navigation with Entune infotainment system, cruise control, SofTex trimmed heated front seats, leather trimmed steering wheel with audio buttons, Star Safety System and six airbags.

Wired.co.uk has recently tested the RAV4 EV and found out that it has a solid foundation, good built quality and spacious. See their full review here.
