No matter how much we’d like to think about present day NASCAR as being real stock car racing, this is just a nice and honest thought. NASCAR’s obviously not what it used to be, but it didn’t change that much.
For the 2013 season, the three automakers involved in the Sprint Cup Series - Chevrolet, Ford and Toyota - made a lot of efforts to bring the racing vehicle a lot more closer to the road-going version. Each of them claim to have put the stock back in stock car racing with the new Gen-6 cars, but opinions are still divided.
We don’t have anything against today’s sport, but we think that stock car racing ain’t coming back with a “plastic” body that’s painted to look like the real thing. NASCAR obviously has a different opinion and tried explaining more about the new road-racing connection using a street and an oval track ready Toyota Camry.
