2013 Shelby Mustang GT500 Prototype Sold for $300,000

Some lucky fan of the Mustang is now in possession of the Shelby GT500 Durability Car after paying a staggering $300,000 for it at the recent Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction that took place over the weekend.
This is a rough and ready prototype created by the guys at Ford SVT was used to test the durability of the future production Shelby Mustang GT500 on Sebring International Raceway, the High-speed Oval track at the Arizona Proving Ground, as well as the Route 66 road course, among others.

The endurance test mule comes with color mismatched bumpers and is covered with 200 mph bug strikes. An to make it extra special, the inside of the deck lid is signed by testing crew of SVT.
