Get theme while they’re hot! Here is the car that Land Rover has so desperately tried to keep under wraps until the official reveal. It really seems that these two photos of the new Range Rover are the real deal, as everything matches with the test vehicles seen in our spyshots, and the quality is worthy of press imagery.
The new Range Rover SUV is expected to make its debut together with the Range Rover Sport at the Paris Motor Show, ahead of a market launch early next year.
This is a completely new vehicle, built without any BMW architecture and boasting an aluminum chassis, just like the Jaguar XJ. This is rumored to have translated into weight savings of about 1,000 pounds (450kg) over the current model.
But it’s not just the chassis that’s new. Rumor has it that the old 5.0-liter V8 that’s served JLR for so long has been replaced with a supercharged 3.0-liter V6. If what we know from the upcoming F-Type sportscar, we could be looking at 340 and 380 PS versions of this engine. The mighty supercharged V8 will not, however, be replaced.
