We already know that Porsche is planning to unveil the new Cayman coupe at the Lost Angeles Auto Show in the next few days, but that doesn’t mean the car is completely ready yet. Their engineers are still testing it on the streets of Stuttgart, and out favorite German spotter has managed to film it in action.
Toldi took this video of the brand new 2013 Cayman 981 generation, an S model by the look of it, testing at night in Stuttgart. The car sounds great, and he was also able to capture some close-ups of the interior.
The new Cayman will share its platform, engines and looks with the Boxster. It will be lighter and stiffer, but at the same time slightly longer and wider than the old Cayman. The base model will have a 265HP 2.7-liter, while the Cayman S will be powered by a 315HP 3.4-liter. The cheaper brother of the 911 is a very nice sportscar, and we can’t wait to get behind the wheel, hopefully when it comes out next year.
