Nissan has recently released a video that celebrates the 30th anniversary of its Technical Center in Atsugi, Japan, with the carmaker accidentally revealing a prototype of the all-new 2013 Altima sedan in the clip.
The company quickly replaced the video with a version that shows a prototype of the Infiniti JX crossover instead (this can be found at the 3:44 mark), but not before Insideline’s Mike Magrath took a screen shot of the vehicle.
As you can see in the adjacent photo, the new Altima receives a bolder design, with styling cues including complex lines, as well as headlights inspired from those of the 370Z and Maxima.
As we previously reported, the new Altima will introduce a new Nissan hybrid powertrain, which will include a supercharged 2.5-liter, four-cylinder gasoline engine, as well as a CVT assembly that includes an electric motor, a lithium-ion battery pack and two clutches. This will use the carmaker’s new Xtronic CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission).
