2013 MotoGP: Marquez Still the Fastest at COTA, Yamaha Goes Home

Marquez Still the Fastest at COTA
Yamaha's MotoGP team has concluded their second day of tests at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA) and despite their two riders Lorenzo and Rossi finished the session in positions 3 and 5, respectively, they're satisfied with the bikes' setup.
Repsol Honda rookie extraordinaire Marc Marquez ended the test day in the leading position, with a fastest lap of 2m03s853, being almost a second quicker than in the first day. His team mate Dani Pedrosa followed him very closely at less than a tenth of a second.

Lorenzo lapped the COTA in 2m04s351, while Rossi's best time was 2m04s260, with LCR Honda's Stefan Bradl between them. Lorenzo also did a 13-lap race simulation and was extremely pleased with the bike setup. Since Rossi was also ok with the efforts the mechanics made to prepare the bike for the COTA, Yamaha called it a day and having accomplished the mission they anticipated the day before, have left Austin.

Honda's riders still have one test day remaining, so now it's no longer about battling Yamaha, but finishing the setup and hoping for better lap times, too. Even the two Yamaha riders admitted that Hondas are at this point faster than the rest, and this is a bit of concern.
