It was a good, promising first day of practice for Honda's potential champion-to-be Marc Marquez at Valencia, as he topped both of sessions.
Marquez was clocked with 1m31s220, a better time than his 1m31m557 in FP1. Marquez' team mate Dani Pedrosa was second, 0.066 late and behind him, defending champion Jorge Lorenzo posted his 1m31s378 best lap. The current Best Lap belongs to Pedrosa, thanks to his 2012 1m30s844 time.
Crutchlow was 4th in FP2 despite a crash in the last lap. The Englishman is alright and his bike was not wrecked. Rossi was 5th and two "Open Class" Honda came after him: Bradl and Bautista. The top 10 was completed with Smith and Ducati's Dovizioso and Hayden.
Also crashing but safe, sound and furious was Aleix Espargaro who came off his bike and ended the session in the 13th position. He already is the CRT/ Open Class 2013 champion, however.
