Spectacular racing on a spectacular circuit this weekend at Mugello, in Italy, the home race for motorcycle legend Valentino Rossi, with high-paced riding, a plethora of dramatic crashes and amazing display of skill.

Things did not go well for The Doctor, however, as he crashed in the 4 corner, being involved in a clash with Alvaro Bautista. Though Race Direction mentioned they will look again at all the footage, it seems like this was a simple race incident, and Bautista simply did not see Rossi closing on him. Too bad for his fans gathered at Mugello, but it was just not Vale's day.

On a more dramatic side was the way rookie Marc Marquez crashed close to the end of the race, while he was in the second position after overtaking Pedrosa. This was to be his 4th crash weekend, and with a total of 7 spills, he is the rider who spilled the omst this season.

This brought everybody one position up, with Pedrosa in second and Crutchlow once more on the podium. Should Marquez have take the podium, he'd also been the first-ever rookie to score 5 podiums in a row, but it wasn't his day either.

Stefan Bradl was also extremely happy to bring the bike home in 4th, followed by Dovizioso and Hayden on the factory Ducati and Pirro's lab GP13 machine in 6th. Aleix Espargaro was the fastest CRT rider, and the top 10 was completed with Bradley Smith and Hector Barbera.

MotoGP will be in Barcelona, Spain in a fortnight, and we're expecting a blazing race from Lorenzo:yes, this will be his home race. Lorenzo is now second in the world standings, with 91 points. Pedrosa sits in the lead with 103 points.
